Departing from their traditional ways of ESL speakers, Martin Logan’s Preface speakers rely on traditional cone drivers. Don’t let this departure fool you, these are still speakers worthy of carrying the Martin Logan name.

The Martin Logan Preface features three 6.5 inch woofers and one Advanced Thin-Film Driver tweeter. This tweeter is similar to the electrostatic speakers for which Martin Logan is famous.

At a mere 39.6 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 17 inches deep, the Martin Logan Prefaces will fit just about anyone’s home theater configuration.

Features

Martin Logan took the technology from their electrostatic panels and shrunk it down. The result is the high resolution Advanced Thin Film Driver. The ATF drivers approach the clarity and detail of their electrostatic panels but allow the use of a much smaller cabinet.

Three 6.5 inch woofers handle the low end frequencies. There is also a bass port on the back of the cabinet which helps increase the bass. Martin Logan uses lightweight yet rigid woofers to deliver tight, accurate bass response.

The Vojtko crossover was designed to mate perfectly with the drivers in the Preface. The Vojtko crossover preserves miniscule sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source material.

The Martin Logan Preface comes with a set of MiniETC, or Energy Transfer Coupling spikes. These spikes are used to enhance the stability on deep carpet or to create a tighter coupling between speaker and floor.
